Lobbying and Political Influence
As is with most Americans, you're probably so busy with your day-to-day life, business and family, that you may be shocked to read how much the pHARMaceutical Industry has paid to lobby locally and nationally to have their agendas made into laws.

The anti smoking movement was funded by the pharmaceutical industry to push their drugs, patches, inhalers and gum.  What they don't tell you is the American Cancer Society's 2003 report shows one has a better chance of long term quitting smoking if you use NO drugs or patches.  Cold Turkey is the best methods but they don't tell you that because the drug companies want to sell their drugs.  That's why they pushed for smoking bans.  If they really wanted us to quit, they would advertise the best way to quit IS Cold Turkey.  One such company's "non" profit foundation gave 446 MILLION DOLLARS for smoking bans.  They try to make "Big Tobacco" look like a monster but if you'll look at the top industries who lobbied for these laws, look who leads the pack.  There's 300 million dollars before #2 even weighs in.  Do you see Agriculture anywhere in this list?  That's where "Big Tobacco's" evil lobbying money would be.  It didn't even make the list.  So next time the American Cancer Society or American Lung Association throws "Big Tobacco" into the conversation, ask these groups how much they've gotten from Big pHARMa or their "non" profit groups they set up.
